About Sparrow Kids
Jesus once pointed to the sparrows, small birds most people hardly noticed. He said, "Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God." Then He told His friends, "Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows" (Luke 12:6-7).
Why “Sparrow”?
That's why we're called Sparrow Kids. Every child is seen by God, known by God, and precious to Him. No child is too small, too far away, or too easy to overlook.
The Bible says, "We are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand" (Isaiah 64:8). Every Sparrow character starts from the same clay and is shaped into someone different, with their own face, look, and personality. That's how God made us: one Creator, equal worth, and wonderfully different.
Why Clay?
Clay is warm and playful and makes kids curious. Every scene is shaped bit by bit, the way God shapes us one step at a time.
Sparrow Kids began with a shared love for Jesus and for kids. Our three Co-Founders, Cory and Ryann Ard and Sarah Steffensen, each bring something different. Cory brings 15 years of outreach experience, and Ryann's creative voice as a songwriter now shapes stories instead of songs. Sarah and Andreas Steffensen add three decades of missions work around the world.
Our Story
Today we make claymation Bible stories, narrated by Cory, and we're already sharing them with children in their own language!
Meet the Team
Sarah Steffensen
Co-Founder & Executive Director
Sarah brings more than 25 years of ministry experience serving children, families, and the local church. She leads Sparrow Kids, bringing people and projects together to turn the vision into resources families and churches can use. Sarah also serves as Founder and CEO of our parent organization, The Sparrow Group.
Cory ARd
Co-Founder & Director of strategic partnerships
Cory is the voice you hear in every Sparrow Kids story. A hip-hop and spoken-word artist with years in youth outreach and urban ministry, he also connects churches, ministries, and supporters with the work of Sparrow Kids.
Ryann Darling Ard
Co-Founder & Executive creative Director
Ryann brings our clay world to life on screen. A Nashville-based singer-songwriter and composer, she shapes the stories, scripts, music, and resources that help kids carry what they learn into everyday life.
Andreas Steffensen
Director of Global Strategy
Andreas leads our global missions work and guides our Adventure box. Andreas brings 30 years of experience in global missions to Sparrow Kids’ vision for reaching children everywhere. He develops international ministry partnerships and guides strategies for translation, distribution, and resources that help children encounter Jesus in their own language and culture. Andreas also serves as President of our parent organization, The Sparrow Group.
James Neal III, M.Div.
Director of theology
Pastor James reviews and helps finalize every story before it reaches your family. Pastor James serves as an Associate Pastor at Zeal Church and holds an M. Div. from Oral Roberts University. He helps keep Sparrow Kids’ stories and teaching rooted in Scripture and centered on Jesus, bringing biblical knowledge and pastoral insight to content development and the team’s communication with churches and ministry partners.

Our statement of faith guides every story we make and the way we serve families and churches.
Through decades of missions work, Andreas and Sarah have built friendships with church leaders in places where children have very few Bible resources in their own language. Many of those children are the first in their families to follow Jesus. We want to equip the people who are already there, loving them.
Why everywhere matters
We're a small team with a big dream: that every child, everywhere, gets to know Jesus. Our goal is for the videos to never sit behind a paywall, so any family can press play. Every gift helps us make the next Bible story and bring it to children in the language they know best!
